WH’s Fit for Summer event
A few weeks ago I taught yoga to 70 women on the beautiful terrace of the Muziekgebouw on the shore of the river ‘IJ’. The yoga class was part of Women’s Health Fit For Summer event , an event where healthy and fit women could explore different kinds of movement, including bootcamp, yoga, surfing and paddle boarding. The yoga class was part of a partnership with Lululemon, my favourite brand of technical yoga wear. When it was time to teach my yoga class, the rain came pouring down, the winds blew hard and heavy against the building and our yoga mats were soaked right through and almost blew away. Read More
Chocolate Hazelnut Brownies
These no-bake Chocolate Hazelnut Brownies taste delicious and are great as a healthy sweet treat or dessert. I made them for the first time during our Mindfulness Retreat in Friesland last weekend. I wanted to create a healthy, (refined) sugar-free dessert for our retreat guests. I found this recipe for Raw Hazelnut Chai Brownies on Green Kitchen Stories and I decided to tweak the recipe a little and give my own twist to these easy-to-make brownies. By adding ground hazelnuts to the recipe and more cacao powder they become more firm in texture, almost like a fudge, and have a stronger chocolate flavour. Read More

Homemade Coconut Rice Milk
Easy and delicious homemade Coconut Rice Milk with only four ingredients: water, rice, coconut milk and a pinch of sea salt. I often buy my coconut rice milk but buying plant-based milks can get expensive. I have tried to re-create the flavours of my favourite, unsweetened Coconut Rice Milk and I am very happy with the result. The most important part is draining the milk through a very fine sieve or cheese cloth otherwise it can get grainy. The naturally occurring sugars in the rice and coconut milk give this Coconut Rice Milk a delicious sweet flavour. Read More
