Liquid Sunshine Smoothie

This refreshing Liquid Sunshine Smoothie is rich in anti-oxidants and nutrients that do only boost your immune system but are also responsible for keeping our skin healthy and glowing. As an immunity-booster, Vitamin C aids the production of white blood cells and antibodies that help fight off infections. Vitamin C is also a natural antihistamine which can help reduce sensitivity to allergens. For example, it may reduce nasal congestion if you are struggling with hay fever. Vitamin C is also a powerful and effective antioxidant that protects our body from the counter-effects of stress, anxiety and illness, all which can cause inflammation and lead to disease. It’s especially good post-workout where natural inflammation and scar tissue can occur.

Getting in plenty of Vitamin C on a daily basis (and this smoothie is a really great way to do so!) can even improve your mental balance, your ability to manage stress and boost your performance as an athlete.  Collagen building Vitamin C is also essential for the growth and repair of tissues in your body and plays a critical role in keeping your skin healthy. Collagen rejuvenates the skin and reduces the effects of ageing. Oranges and limes are a great source of Vitamin C. Papaya and Camu Camu fruit contain even higher amounts of Vitamin C. Both mango and papaya are excellent sources of Vitamin A.  Vitamin A and C are both essential for the proper functioning of a healthy immune system. Papaya also contains an enzyme called papain, which helps to improve digestion.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of mango, peeled and cored
  • 1 cup of papaya, peeled and cored
  • 3 oranges, juice
  • 1 glass of (chilled) coconut water
  • 2 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 tsp Camu Camu powder
  • 1 tbsp ginger, peeled and chopped

 Instructions

Add all prepared ingredients to the high-speed blender, pulse until you have a smooth consistency and serve right away!
